Might of Singlehearted Unity Displayed in 2005

     Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- Juche 94 (2005) is a proud year when the entire officers and men of the Korean People's Army and people powerfully demonstrated once again the might of single-minded unity centering around the leader and the Party. Leader Kim Jong Il clearly indicated the road ahead of the general onward march of the Songun revolution this year to celebrate the 60th anniversaries of the Workers' Party of Korea and national liberation and wisely led the army and people in the van of the march.
    He has given field guidance to units of the KPA and various sectors of the socialist construction one after another all the year round from the beginning of January, the coldest month, to strengthen the single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks in every way and to lead the revolution and construction to victory.
    He paid working visit to scores of army units and economic institutions from the early November to the middle of December. This concentrically shows his indefatigable revolutionary activities.
    Infinitely inspired by the devotion of Kim Jong Il, the whole Party, the whole army and the entire people made signal successes in all fields, political, military, economic and cultural, and thus celebrated the 60th birthday of the WPK as a grand festival of victors.
    The servicepersons launched a campaign to follow the example of O Jung Hup-led Seventh Regiment which safeguarded President Kim Il Sung at the cost of lives during the anti-Japanese armed struggle, preparing themselves as stalwarts defending the leader with their lives.
    Meanwhile, giant successes were registered in the economic sectors, too.
    The dam of the Nyongwon Power Station and the Paekma-Cholsan Waterway, gravity-fed irrigation system, were built as monumental edifices in the Songun era and the Taean Friendship Glass Factory, the symbol of the Korea-China friendship, was commissioned with success. And more than 130 objects have been built or reconstructed on an expansion basis and over 8,500 inventions introduced into production. And over 1,600 industrial establishments carried out their yearly plans ahead of schedule.
    In particular, the military parade, torch procession and grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", which were held in celebration of the 60th birthday of the WPK, fully demonstrated how strongly the army and people are rallied behind Kim Jong Il.
    All the successes made by the single-minded unity show the unswerving will of the servicepersons and people to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation without fail in any adversities, rallied close around the leader.
