Taean Friendship Glass Factory Built on Best Place

Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- The Taean Friendship Glass Factory has turned out quality plate glass of hundreds of thousands of square meters in the two months since its commissioning. The success is attributable mainly to the factory's location in the best place in the central part of the country.
It is close to the sources of raw materials and consumer areas and has favorable transport conditions.
The factory, which consumes a hundred and scores of tons of sand a day, transports sand by ship through the West Sea and the River Taedong. The railway lines have been laid to its compound. More raw materials needed for the normalization of production will be brought in by rail. It is also linked with motorways leading to all directions of the country.
Recently, cargo-ships for carrying 150-ton class trucks started to work between Tami-ri, Taean County and Oryu-dong, Songrim City to make more favorable condition for the operation of the factory.
The factory is provided with ample electricity and industrial water as it is situated near Pyongyang with leading power bases and the River Taedong. Chinese technicians who participated in the construction of the factory said as one that it was hard to find such suitable place as Taean for glass factory in other parts of the world.
Now all the production processes of the factory are in normal operation.
