Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance to the newly built shops at the Ryongsong Foodstuff Factory. Two new shops producing beer and processed milk built at the factory have started production under the warm loving care of Kim Jong Il. After hearing an explanation in front of a huge painting showing the panoramic view of the shops, he went round their production processes to acquaint himself in detail with their construction and production.
After making the rounds of the structures built in the best quality and the production processes equipped with the latest facilities, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the builders have successfully constructed the modern foodstuff production base with total dedication to the people. Seeing a variety of production coming out in an endless stream, he was pleased with the fact that it has become possible to supply more quality foodstuffs to the people. He set forth tasks to be fulfilled to manage and operate the shops, saying that as the modern foodstuff shops have been built, it is necessary to keep the production going at a high rate.
If the production is to be put on normal footing as the newly built shops have a great capacity, it is important above all to provide sufficient raw materials to them, he added.
It is imperative to pay primary attention to the control of equipment and technical management as the shops are furnished with ultra-modern equipment, he said, stressing that to this end, big efforts should be directed to the work to raise the level of the technical skill of the producers and, at the same time, research into this field should be intensified and advanced technology be actively introduced to it.
He noted that in order to ensure the hygienic security of foodstuffs, it is necessary to widely introduce the processing method based on uptodate technology and keep the interior and the exterior of the factory neat and tidy to sterilize the production site.
Packing and trademark are very important in the foodstuff production, too, he said, underlining the need to improve the quality of packing and, at the same time, design trademarks well to suit the characteristics of consumers.
He also underlined the need for the factory to properly work out a management strategy, a business strategy on the principle of profitability and effectively realize the modernization and scientification of the production processes on a phased basis and thus systematically lower the norm of raw materials consumption per unit of goods to supply greater quantities of quality cheap foodstuffs to the people.
He was accompanied by Kim Kuk Thae and Kim Ki Nam, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK, Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, and Generals of the Korean People's Army Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong.
