The congratulatory performance by the art propaganda squad from the General Federation of Trade Union was held at the Central Labor Worker Hall, according to the Pyongyang Broadcasting Station on December 22.

On the 88th anniversary of the birth of Kim Jong-sook, workers visited the revolutionary museum at Mt. Geumgang, according to the Central Broadcasting Station on December 17.

A meeting for drivers of no.26 model machines was held to present their experiences on December 19, according to the Central Broadcasting Station on December 20.

The national defense sport games by middle school students in Pyongyang was held in the Kim Il-sung Square on December 18, according to the Central Broadcasting Station on December 18.

Inter-Korean Affairs

The 17 th Inter-Korean Ministerial Talks ended after the adoption of the Joint Statement on December 16.

A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Unification of the Fatherland, through its press conference with the Central Broadcasting Station on December 16, denounced the international conference on human rights in North Korea which had been held in Seoul as pro-American extreme conservatives’ maneuvering against North Korea, according to the Pyongyang Broadcasting Station on December 17.

Foreign Affairs

The Korean Central News Agency at its business bulletin demanded for hard-line countermeasures and financial compensation concerning the termination of the construction of light water reactors, according to the Central Broadcasting Station on December 20.

A North Korean representative, through his address at the 60 th meeting of the UN General Assembly, supported the follow-up measures on obligatory nuclear weapons reduction agreed at the meeting for reviewing the implementation of the Non Proliferation Treaty from 1995 to 2000, according to the Central Broadcasting Station and Pyongyang Broadcasting Station.on December.18.

North Korea through the statement by a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 19, expressed its will to strengthen national self- defense capability including nuclear deterrence if the U.S. strengthens its policy of isolating and crushing North Korea on the pretext of North Korea’s human rights issues and nuclear issues, according to the Pyongyang Broadcasting Station on December 19.

The Pyongyang Broadcasting Station on December 19 condemned the four- year national defense strategy drawn by the U.S. Department of Defense as a war strategy to invade the Korean peninsula.
