Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected a three revolution red flag company of KPA Unit 2191. Kim Jong Il was greeted on the spot by commanding officers of the unit and the company. He learned about the company's performance of duty and praised it for carrying out its combat duty with vigilance.
The servicepersons of the company are waging a vigorous movement for learning from the fighting spirit of Hero Ri Su Bok and other forerunners and growing up to be indomitable fighters, he said, underscoring the need to glorify every moment of their military service with shining feats so that they may become heroes in the sacred mission to defend the country.
Going round various places of the company, he acquainted himself with the service and living of the soldiers.
Seeing the soldiers leading a happy life in the educational room equipped with modern educational means and entertainment facilities, a bedroom and a mess hall without any inconvenience, he highly praised the company for having provided them with good living conditions. It is very good that the soldiers of the company are preparing themselves as staunch revolutionaries by observing the iron discipline, he noted, adding that no period is more beautiful and rewarding than the period one spends as a soldier in the army.
Noting that it is of weighty significance in developing the revolutionary armed forces to strengthen a company, a basic combat unit of the People's Army, he called for reinforcing the company as a steel-like combat contingent of the Juche type revolutionary soldiers.
He gave the servicepersons of the company a pair of binoculars and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photograph taken with them. He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the C.C., WPK.
