Rodong Sinmun on Benevolent Policy of WPK
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The glorious history of the Workers' Party of Korea that firmly defended the Juche cause of socialism and advanced it along the road of victory, breaking through hardships and ordeals of revolution is a manifestation of the validity and tremendous attraction of the benevolent policy, says Rodong Sinmun today in a by-lined article. It goes on:
The benevolent policy is a policy for the people pursued only by the WPK which holds President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the supreme incarnation of benevolence, in high esteem.
The benevolent policy of the Party is a political mode which provides all the people with the most worthwhile life and rallies them in the ranks of loyalty. It is also the most beneficent policy of looking after the independent and creative life of the people with full responsibility which is consistent with infinite service to the people.
The might of the benevolent policy of the Party was fully demonstrated during the "Arduous March" and the forced march.
Kim Jong Il has firmly defended the destiny of the people with his Songun policy, considering arms to be love for the people in those days of severe trials. It is the iron will of Kim Jong Il that benevolent policy in socialist society is not contradictory to army and the benevolent policy presupposes a strong army. The circumstances and conditions of the revolution were unprecedentedly severe during the "Arduous March" and the forced march, but the faith and obligation of all the army and the people following the headquarters of the revolution were cemented and pure thanks to the Songun policy pursued by Kim Jong Il.
The army and people of the DPRK will always devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution at the risk of their lives in glorious days or difficult days, keeping the benefit of the benevolent policy in their hearts.
