National Seminar Held to Commemorate WPK Birthday

    Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- A national seminar was held at the People's Palace of Culture Tuesday to commemorate the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. Present there were Jong Ha Chol, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Yong Jin, minister of Education, Choe Ik Gyu, minister of Culture, and others. Presented at the seminar were papers under the titles "The foundation of the WPK was a historic event that set a shining example in building a revolutionary party in the era of Juche," "The idea and theory on building a Juche-oriented party serve as an undying great programme clearly indicating ways of building a working class revolutionary party," "The great undying leadership exploits performed in building the WPK into the party of the leader," "Developing the WPK into a mighty party steering the era of Songun provides a sure guarantee for accomplishing the Songun revolutionary cause," "The great leadership provided for building the WPK into the mother party looking after the people's destiny in a responsible manner" and "Let the whole party and army and all people bring about a decisive turn in the building of a great prosperous powerful nation remaining loyal to the Songun idea and leadership of the great general."
    The floor was taken by Choe Chil Nam, editor-in-chief of Rodong Sinmun, Kim Si Hak, president of Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, Ri Thae Bong, editor-in-chief of Josoninmingun, Pak Jong Nam, secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the WPK, and others.
    The speakers proved scientifically and theoretically in depth the immortal revolutionary exploits performed by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the party building. Referring to the significance of the exploits performed in building a Juche-oriented party, they stressed that under the leadership of Kim Jong Il the WPK has become a militant party which has modeled all members of the society on the Songun idea, taking it as steadfast guidelines in the party building and activities and won victory after victory in the drive to build a great prosperous powerful nation and in the confrontation with imperialism, with the U.S., putting forward the Korean People's Army as the main force.
    The Juche-oriented idea and theory on party building formulated by Kim Jong Il as a perfect theory of the revolutionary party building in the era of independence serve as an undying grand programme for building a revolutionary party as they indicate the most correct ways of building the party into a political organization leading the work to materialize the leader's idea and establish his leadership, they said, and went on: By setting out the most scientific and revolutionary idea of party building in the era of Songun, Kim Jong Il provided a precious ideological and theoretical boon to steadily developing the WPK into a powerful political organization steering the Songun revolution despite whatever difficulties.
    Thanks to the outstanding guidance of Kim Jong Il, who, regarding Songun as the warmest love for the people, has firmly protected the people's destiny with the Songun politics, the WPK has decisively met all the imperialists' challenges and frustrated their moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK, firmly defended the destiny of the country and the people and dynamically steered the building of a great prosperous powerful nation.
