National Book Exhibition Opens

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- A national book exhibition opened with due ceremony at the Grand People's Study House Tuesday to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. Displayed there are at least 39,000 books and magazines of more than 22,000 kinds out of those published in the DPRK and different countries up to this date since Korea's liberation. Among them are works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and books dealing with the history of revolutionary activities of the peerlessly great persons and the immortal exploits performed by them.
The exhibition is divided into some rooms for publishing houses and distribution networks.
Books showing the greatness and exploits of the party and the leader including "Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works", "Kim Jong Il's Selected Works," "Great Personality of Kim Jong Il," "Accomplishing Juche Revolutionary Cause" and "Korea, I Will Glorify Thee" and books explaining the Juche idea and the policies of the WPK, its embodiment, and socio-political books are on display in the rooms for publishing houses such as the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House, the Science and Encyclopedia Press, the Kum Song Youth Publishing House, the Literary and Art Publishing House, the Educational Book Publishing House, the Industrial Publishing House and the Foreign Languages Publishing House.
Also displayed there are different kinds of books dealing with various domains, magazines and dictionaries.
Displayed in the rooms for the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and distribution networks are a variety of books including "Proud Path Covered by Chongryon" and magazines and books published in foreign countries praising the greatness of the three generals of Mt. Paektu and the immortal exploits performed by them including "Kim Il Sung, the Great Leader of the People in the 20th Century" and "Kim Jong Il, Leader of Korea" and those introducing the DPRK demonstrating the might of Songun.
Jong Ha Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, addressed the opening ceremony.
