Heavy Rainfall in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- A torrential rain fell in Pyongyang, South Phyongan, South and North Hwanghae Provinces. According to observations from 6 p.m. on August 3 to 6 a.m. on the 4th, Maengsan witnessed 142 mm of rainfall, Phyongsong 139 mm, Sariwon 138 mm, Pyongyang 134 mm, Songchon 96 mm, Pukchang 95 mm, Jangyon 92 mm and Hwangju 91 mm. In particular, for an hour from 3 a.m. on Thursday, there was as much rainfall as 66 mm in Pyongyang and 40 mm in Kangnam.
The heavy rain mainly hit cities situated along the River Taedong such as Pyongyang, Phyongsong and Sariwon.
The nimbus is slowly moving northward.
