Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- A presentation of wartime songs "Eternal Song of Victory of Songun" was made by war veterans from across the country in Pyongyang on July 25 to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War (July 27, 1953). It was appreciated by Kim Yong Nam, Kim Il Chol, Kim Jung Rin and other senior officials and working people.
In their repertoire including chorus "Song of General Kim Il Sung," men's chorus, mixed chorus, frontline recreation party, true story telling and singing to the accompaniment of drums the performers truthfully represented the spirit of devotedly defending the country and the spirit of revolutionary optimism in which the servicepersons of the Korean People's Army devoted their youth and life to the Party and the leader, the country and people during the war.
That day an oratorical meeting "July 27, the Day of Victory to Be Always Remembered" was held by youths and students in Pyongyang at the Central Youth Hall.
At the meeting students recited a commemorative poem "July 27, Day of Victory" to be followed by oratories "Iron-Willed Brilliant Commander," "Army and National Flag," "The Country Blessed by Songun" and "Our Life." The performers said in an excited tone that the Korean people could become a dignified and proud people who defeated two ferocious imperialisms thanks to the outstanding military idea and leadership of President Kim Il Sung who made the U.S. imperialists sink like the setting sun though they had boasted of being "the strongest" in the world.
Also put on the stage were men's chorus "Song of National Defence" by war veterans, chorus "General of Korea" by boy students and other numbers.
On the same day, a meeting of agricultural workers was held in front of the Jonsung Revolutionary Museum on the same occasion.
