Supreme Commander of KPA Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

    Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, inspected KPA Unit 937 honored with the title of Kum Song Lifeguard situated on the forefront. After receiving a salute, he acquainted himself with the unit's performance of duty and its training.
    He set forth tasks to be fulfilled to increase the unit's combat capability in every way, satisfied to learn that the servicepersons of the unit have converted all the operational theatres into invulnerable fortresses with intense loyalty to the Party and the revolution and ardent patriotism and have been fully prepared as a-match-for-a hundred fighters capable of wiping out any formidable enemy at a single stroke.
    He praised the servicepersons of the unit for performing their combat duties in a responsible manner with a high degree of vigilance, noting that the socialist motherland is sure to triumph as the forefront is guarded by the soldiers whose hearts are burning with the pledge to traverse with loyalty the road of the revolution to the last.
    He dropped in at the servicepersons' hall where he learned about how the political and ideological work is conducted among the servicepersons, seeing entertainment facilities and visual aids.
    He noted with appreciation that the unit is operating the servicepersons' hall on a regular basis after successfully building it into a centre for entertainment and conducting the revolutionary education, the working class education to suit the characteristic feature of the servicepersons. He underscored the need for the unit to pay primary attention to the ideological education to prepare all of them as soldiers equipped with the indomitable revolutionary spirit.
    Then he familiarized himself with the living of the servicepersons, looking round facilities for supplying service.
    He called for directing sustained great efforts to the sideline farming to make the diet of the soldiers more affluent.
    He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the unit.
    He was accompanied by Ri Yong Chol, member of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and first vice department director of its Central Committee, and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of its Central Committee.
