
United States Approves Visit by North Korean Official

Deputy Director Li Gun to attend conference in New York June 30-July 1
The United States has approved the travel of a senior North Korean official. In response to a question posed at the June 17 State Department briefing, a spokesman confirmed that Li Gun, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) deputy director for North America, will be able to attend a foreign policy conference in New York June 30-July 1.

Question: What is the conference Mr. Li Gun will be attending in the United States? When does it take place?
Answer: We have approved the travel of DPRK Deputy Director General for North America Li Gun to attend a June 30-July 1 conference in New York hosted by the National Committee on Foreign Policy.
