Commemorative Stamps Released in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 10(KCNA) -- Korea Stamp Corporation has issued new stamps (a sheetlet and a souvenir sheet) in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. Printed in the commemorative stamps are words "Commemoration of 5th Anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration", "June Juche 89 (2000)- June Juche 94 (2005)", "The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration" and "By Our Nation Itself" and pictures of blue Korean map.
The sheetlet, which consists of four stamps, features a photograph of leader Kim Jong Il shaking hands with ex- President of south Korea Kim Dae Jung at Pyongyang Airport, their souvenir photograph and photographs showing them conversing at a banquet and signing the historic North-South Joint Declaration.
Given in it is a picture showing railway lines between the north and south relinked under the idea of "By the Korean nation itself" after the publication of the joint declaration.
The face value of each stamp is 112 won.
Printed in the center of the upper part of the souvenir sheet is a photograph showing Kim Jong Il with broad smile on his face shaking hands with Kim Dae Jung and, below it, a picture showing the full text of the declaration with magnolia, national flower of Korea in its background.
Its face value is 167 won.
