Enlarged Plenary Meeting of Cabinet Held

Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- An enlarged plenary meeting of the DPRK Cabinet was held.
The meeting discussed two agenda items: "On the results of the implementation of the state budget for Juche 93 (2004) and the measures for fulfilling the state budget for this year adopted as an ordinance at the 3rd Session of the 11th Supreme People's Assembly" and "On the review of the implementation of the national economic plan for the first quarter of the year and the measures for fulfilling the national economic plan for the second quarter of the year".
Reporters and speakers noted that sufficient money was provided to make a new breakthrough in the building of a great prosperous powerful nation last year, and referred to achievements made in carrying out the national economic plan for the first quarter of this year.
Saying that the Korean people are now faced with heavy yet honorable task to glorify the 60th anniversaries of the Workers' Party of Korea and the liberation of the country as a grand festival of victors unprecedented in the history of the nation, the meeting set forth tasks facing all the fields and units to effect fresh miracles and innovations in production and construction in the second quarter of the year.
It was specially stressed at the meeting that the second quarter is of weighty importance in carrying out the WPK's policy of bringing about radical turn in agriculture and all efforts should be concentrated on farming.
The meeting fixed it as an important economic strategy to step up the reconstruction and modernization of the national economy and called for a vigorous drive to carry it out. And it laid down tasks facing different fields of the economy.
Premier Pak Pong Ju and Cabinet members were present at the meeting.
Attending it as observers were chiefs of organs directly under the authority of the Cabinet, chairmen of provincial, city and county people's committees, chairmen of provincial rural economy committees and leading officials of complexes and major industrial establishments.
