Third Session of 11th SPA of DPRK Held

    Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- The Third Session of the 11th Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on April 11. Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, appeared on the platform.
    It was also mounted by Kim Yong Nam, Jo Myong Rok, Pak Pong Ju, senior officials of the Party, the state and the army, chairpersons of friendly parties, and members of the Presidium of the SPA.
    Chairman of the SPA Choe Thae Bok made an opening address.
    The session discussed the following agenda items:
    1. On the review of the work of the DPRK Cabinet in Juche 93 (2004) and its tasks for Juche 94 (2005)
    2. On the results of the implementation of the DPRK state budget for Juche 93 (2004) and the state budget for Juche 94 (2005)
    3. Organizational Issue
    Deputy Pak Pong Ju, premier of the Cabinet, delivered a report on the first agenda item and Deputy Mun Il Bong, minister of Finance, a report on the second agenda item and speeches were made.
    Written speeches were given by deputies.
    The speakers noted that the work of the Cabinet and the implementation of the state budget last year were correctly reviewed and summed up. This year's tasks to accelerate the general march of the Songun revolution were clearly set out and the state budget was also correctly drawn up to bring about a decisive turn in socialist economic construction and in the improvement of people's living. They fully supported and approved them.
    A decision of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly "On approving the report on the work of the DPRK Cabinet and the results of the implementation of the state budget in Juche 93 (2004)" and an ordinance of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly "On the state budget of the DPRK for Juche 94 (2005)" were adopted at the session with the unanimous approbation of the deputies.
    The organizational issue was discussed as the third agenda item.
    Deputy Choe Yong Rim was elected to fill a vacancy of secretary general of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and Deputy Kang Chang Uk, chairman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, to fill a vacancy of a member of the SPA Presidium with the unanimous approval of the deputies.
    Chairman Choe Thae Bok made a closing address.
