National Art Exhibition Opens

Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- A national art exhibition to commemorate the Day of the Sun opened with due ceremony at the People's Palace of Culture Tuesday.
On display in the venue are more than 50 fine art pieces depicting the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung and his personality as a great man and the revolutionary activities of leader Kim Jong Il.
Among them are a Korean painting "Always among the people", an oil painting "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and anti-Japanese war hero Comrade Kim Jong Suk looking over the sunrise above Korea from Jong Il Peak", an embroidery "The spring of the eternal sun" and an acrylic painting "Comrade Kim Jong Il, defender of national dignity".
At the ceremony, Choe Ik Gyu, minister of Culture, made an opening speech.
