Three Forms of National Cooperation Called for
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday dedicates a signed article to the 40th anniversary of the struggle waged by students and people from all walks of life in south Korea against the signing of the traitorous south Korea-Japan "agreement".
The struggle that raged across south Korea from March 31 to August 29 in 1965 was a patriotic one as it recorded a distinguished page in the history of the anti-Japanese and anti-fascist struggle of the south Koreans and demonstrated to the full their indomitable will and heroic resolution to protect the dignity and sovereignty of the nation, the article says, and goes on:
The struggle taught a serious lesson that as long as aggressors and traitors are allowed to stay it is impossible to protect the dignity and interests of the nation and realize the democratization of the south Korean society, and only through a united struggle to lead an independent and dignified life can the Koreans deter the ferocious and crafty foreign forces from perpetrating aggression and infringing upon their interests and achieve independent and uniform development of the country and co-prosperity and common interests of the nation.
The Koreans have not yet achieved the country's reunification, their sovereignty violated, due to the U.S. forces' 60-year long occupation of south Korea that came in the wake of the Japanese imperialists' 40 odd year-long colonial rule over Korea.
It is of paramount importance for the south Korean people to wage a staunch struggle against foreign forces in order to realize the cherished desire of the participants in the above-said just patriotic struggle.
If the south Korean people are to triumph in the struggle for independence against outsiders, they should actively turn out to achieve the three forms of cooperation-- cooperation for national independence, cooperation for peace against war and cooperation for reunification and patriotism?under the uplifted banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
The struggle to put an end to the foreign aggression and interference in south Korea can be crowned with victory only through national cooperation.
The south Korean people should struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea, holding high the slogan of patriotism "Let's not allow the U.S. forces' presence in south Korea to go beyond 60 years!" They should frustrate the U.S. imperialists' sinister intention and criminal moves to dominate the whole of Korea, taking south Korea as a base for aggression to realize their ambition for world supremacy.
They should hold aloft the banner of the struggle to throw overboard the traitorous forces only seeking "cooperation" with outsiders.
All the Koreans in the north, the south and overseas should fully display in the present anti-U.S. sacred struggle the same patriotic enthusiasm and spirit as done by the participants in the struggle against the humiliating "agreement" 40 years back to meet outsiders' challenge to the movement for reunification and foil their moves for a war, drive the aggression forces out of the country and accomplish the historic cause of national independence and reunification as early as possible.
