Bumper Kelp Crop in DPRK

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- Kelp harvest is in full swing on the offshore farms on the west coast of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. As of the end of March the farms under the Fishery Complex of South Hwanghae Province have reaped kelp 3.7 times that in the corresponding period of last year.
The Pupho Offshore Farm has overfulfilled its kelp production plan for March by properly thinning out kelp and increasing output per kelp-growing rope.
The Phyonghwa Offshore Farm is carrying out the daily kelp production quota at 104 percent by raising the operation rate of boats to suit the sea weather conditions.
Similar achievements have also been made by the Ongjin and Kumipho Offshore Farms and Monggumpho Fishery Station.
