World Meteorological Day Observed

Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today observes the World Meteorological Day.
A well-organized hydrometeorological management system has been established in the DPRK under the state care, the paper notes, and continues:
The accuracy of the weather forecasting is ensured and an early alarm system has been set up to greatly contribute to the development of the national economy and the protection of the lives of the people.
A work is also underway in a planned manner to preserve the environment and conserve and manage the water resources and make an effective use of them.
The DPRK will make sustained efforts to step up the modernization of the hydrometeorological field in close cooperation with international bodies in a bid to prevent damage by weather, climate and water in time.
