IRNA chief confers with N Korean minister of culture

Pyongyang, March 1, IRNA -- Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Managing Director Abdollah Nasseri in his meeting with the North Korean minister of culture here on Monday discussed ways of strengthening cultural relations and information dissemination between Tehran and Pyongyang. In the meeting, Nasseri conveyed Iranian Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Ahmad Masjed Jamei`s greetings to North Korean Culture Minister Cho Ike Giv. The Democratic People`s Republic of Korea`s culture minister called for strengthening media cooperation between the two countries` mass media, especially between IRNA and KCNA (Korea Central News Agency), and said this process could enhance mutual economic and cultural ties. Nasseri and his accompanying delegation also visited the office of the mass circulated Korean Newspaper "Rodong Sinmun" and discussed professional issues with its editor-in-chief Choe Chil Nam. Meanwhile, the IRNA delegation visited North Korean late Leader Kim Il Sung`s mausoleum, War Museum, as well as the South and North Koreas` border zero point on Monday.
