Pyongyangites Vow to Bring about Great Revolutionary Surge

Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- At least 100,000 Pyongyangites gathered at Kim Il Sung Square today to vow to thoroughly implement tasks set forth in the appeal to all the servicepersons and people made at the meeting for the general march for the Songun revolution.
They called for intensifying the drive for effecting a fresh great revolutionary surge to greet the 60th anniversaries of the Workers' Party of Korea and national liberation as grand festivals of victors in the Songun revolution.
The meeting was attended by Pak Pong Ju, Yang Hyong Sop, Choe Thae Bok, Jong Ha Chol, Kim Jung Rin and Cabinet members, leading officials of the ministries, national institutions and working people's organizations and working people in the city.
Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, read out the appeal of the meeting for the general march for the Songun revolution to be followed by speeches of representatives of people of various strata.
Kim Hwa Suk, chairwoman of the Cooperative Farm Management Committee of Sadong District, stated that officials and working people in the field of agriculture will devotedly work to till the land of socialism, highly aware of their obligations as citizens of the DPRK, and thus fulfil their responsibility for the nation's grain production. She said that they would bring about fresh innovation in the agricultural production this significant year by thoroughly implementing the party's policy for the agricultural revolution.
Ri Yong Yong, manager of the Kangdong Area Coal Mining Complex, said that all the officials and coal miners of the complex would dynamically step up the general march to bring about a radical turn in the coal production this year.
Kim Song Chol, first secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, said that the on-going general charge calls on the hot-blooded youngsters to perform miracles and feats. He underscored the need for young Koreans to dedicate their wisdom, sweat and enthusiasm to the charge with a high ambition and strong desire just as the young heroes did in the period of the great Chollima surge so as to leave traces of their worthwhile and noble life in the course of the general march for the Songun revolution.
Kim Pok Nam, chief secretary of the Mangyongdae District Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, said that the master key to victory in the general march for the Songun revolution is in the hands of officials. He called on all the officials to guide this year's general march in a responsible manner, bearing deep in mind the high expectation of the party and the requirements of the stirring times and thus fully discharge their duty as officials in the Songun era.
