Working People Vow to Effect Decisive Turn in Building Prosperous Nation

Pyongyang, January 11 (KCNA) -- Korean working people held mass rallies in provinces at which they expressed their unshakable determination to effect a great surge in Songun revolution and bring about a decisive turn in building a great prosperous powerful nation this significant year.
At the mass rallies held in South Hwanghae Province, South Hamgyong Province, Ryanggang Province and North Hamgyong Province on Jan. 9 and 10, speakers underscored the need to concentrate all efforts on boosting agricultural production this year and for such fields as power, coal and metal industries and railway transportation to take the lead in effecting a great surge.
Speakers at the mass rally held in South Hwanghae Province called for thoroughly implementing the policies of agricultural revolution of the Workers' Party of Korea including the policy of bringing about a signal turn in seed improvement, the policy of cultivating two crops a year, the policy of bringing about a signal turn in potato farming and the policy of successfully growing bean the validity of which has been proved in practice.
Speakers at the mass rally in South Hamgyong Province referred to such issues as stepping up the construction of the Kumya-gang Power Station and moving up the date of its operation, drastically increasing the output of coal and ores in Sudong and Tanchon areas and boosting the output of chemical products such as chemical fertilizers at the factories and enterprises in Hungnam area.
Speakers at the mass rally in Ryanggang Province underlined the need for the province to spruce up revolutionary battle sites and historic sites in the province including the area of Mt. Paektu and keep taking the van in implementing the party's policy of bringing a dramatic turn in potato farming.
Speakers at the mass rally in North Hamgyong Province called for putting the production of iron and steel and concentrated iron ore on a steady footing at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Songjin Steel Complex and the Musan Mining Complex and boosting the production of ordered equipment at the Ranam Coal Mining Machine Complex.
