Group Running Marks Day of Sports

Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Streets of Pyongyang Sunday hummed with the running of groups of officials and employees of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Metal and Machine-Building Industries, the Ministry of Light Industry, the Academy of Social Sciences and other ministries and national institutions on the occasion of the First Day of Sports in this significant year.
The second Sunday every month is observed as the Day of Sports in the DPRK.
The runners left Kim Il Sung Square in the heart of the city for Kim Il Sung Stadium and passed through streets, shouting slogans "Single-minded unity", "Devoted protection of the leader" and "Implementation of the leader's instructions in a do-or-die spirit."
This running put impetus to the high-pitched drive of the Pyongyangites to carry out the tasks set out in the joint New Year editorial.
Similar running took place in all provinces, cities and counties.
