Books of Revolutionary Legends Popular among People

    Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Books of revolutionary legends are avidly read among people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Nearly 20 books collect some 800 legends lauding President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and hero of the anti-Japanese war Kim Jong Suk, which have been handed down orally among the Korean people.
    Among them are "Collection of Legends about Mt. Paektu", "Collection of Legends about Lodestar of Mt. Paektu", "Collection of Legends about Female Commander of Mt. Paektu", "Memorial Tales" and "Collection of Legends about the Kumsusan Memorial Palace".
    "Collection of Legends about Mt. Paektu" deals with stories about superb tactics and extraordinary personality of Kim Il Sung which had been widely told among people during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
    Given in "Collection of Legends about Lodestar of Mt. Paektu" are legends concerning historic relics in the secret camp of Mt. Paektu where Kim Jong Il was born as the lodestar of the holy mountain.
    "Collection of Legends about Female Commander of Mt. Paektu" introduces tales on the firm spirit of devotedly guarding President Kim Il Sung displayed by Kim Jong Suk and the Korean people's yearning for her.
    Edited in "Memorial Tales" are stories reflecting the people's lament over the death of Kim Il Sung and their strong sense of obligation to him.
