U.S. Anti-DPRK Psychological Warfare under Fire
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- It was recently disclosed by U.S. government sources that the U.S. has made preparations to massively smuggle transistors into the DPRK without let-up as part of its psychological operation to enforce the "North Korean Human Rights Act." It is also contemplating spending 2 million U.S. dollars every year for increasing the broadcasting hours for false propaganda against the DPRK, according to the sources.
In another development, new CIA Director Porter Goss ordered the chief of the intelligence operation to conduct offensive intelligence activities against the DPRK.
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed commentary terms the measures taken by the U.S. to put the "North Korean Human Rights Act" into force in the wake of its adoption in October in a bid to realize a "regime change" in the DPRK a very serious development.
By massively smuggling transistors and publications, video tapes and CDs of undesirable contents the U.S. seeks to disseminate reactionary ideology among Koreans and thus degenerate their sound thinking and mentality and bring down the Korean-style socialist system, the commentary notes, and continues:
The DPRK can not but take a serious view of the U.S. anti-DPRK intelligence campaign, too.
The green light given by the CIA director to the intensified intelligence campaign against the DPRK discloses the real intention of the U.S. to escalate its espionage against the DPRK in real earnest in a bid to gather detailed information about what is happening in its society and on this basis launch armed invasion aimed to bring down its socialist system. This, therefore, can not but be an outright challenge to the DPRK.
The foolish anti-DPRK psychological operation and intelligence campaign can never work on the Korean people.
Given that the U.S. has become all the more frantic in its moves to stifle the DPRK, guided by its logic of strength and doctrine of a "preemptive attack," it goes without saying that the DPRK is left with no option but to significantly increase its deterrent force for self-defense.
The army and people of the DPRK will heighten their revolutionary vigilance and cement the ideo-political position and the front of anti-imperialism and military affairs.
