Inter-Korean Issues

Pyongyang Broadcasting Service (Oct. 19) criticized “the proposal made by the South’s Uri Party to amend criminal law. It is a proposal to replace the provisions in the National Security Law concerning anti-national parties by adding provisions on the organization of a group with the aim of a rebellion to a relevant crime of the criminal law. The setting forth of such a proposal is an intolerable act mocking the South Korean population that is demanding the abolition of an evil law.”

The spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland criticized the South, saying, “The reason South Korea was fingered as a target for attacks by Al-Qaeda was the South’s forced dispatch of troops to Iraq, surrendering to the urging of the U.S. despite strong opposition from its people.” (Oct. 22, Central Broadcasting Station)
