Thorough Probe into S. Korea's Secret Nuclear Activities Demanded

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK

Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- The recent disclosure of a series of hidden cases of secret nuclear experiments conducted by south Korea created a big furor worldwide. In this regard Minju Joson today says in a signed commentary: South Korea conducted an uranium enrichment experiment by laser in top secrecy in 2000 and a plutonium extraction experiment in 1982.
The nuclear activities of south Korea have reached such a level where it can possess elements necessary for waging a nuclear war such as extraction of nuclear substance, manufacture of nuclear bombs and production of means for nuclear delivery.
The development of nuclear weapons pushed forward by the south Korean authorities is a serious case as it pushes the situation on the Korean peninsula to an extreme phase and adversely affects the inter-Korean relations.
When the nuclear development was disclosed, the south Korean authorities busied themselves explaining that it was a "mere experiment" and "no more than a research at a laboratory." But this was nothing but a fig-leaf to cover up the truth behind their nuclear development.
South Korea has acted a shock force in implementing the U.S. war strategy against the north. If it goes nuclear, Koreans will suffer a horrible nuclear calamity and the whole land of Korea will be reduced to ashes.
Nobody can deny that such nuclear activities of south Korea have been conducted with the U.S. support and at its tacit connivance.
The U.S. should no longer be allowed to apply its unfair double standards to the nuclear issue and the truth behind the criminal nuclear activities in south Korea should be thoroughly probed.
The south Korean authorities should stop working to mislead the public opinion over somebody's nuclear issue, fully disclose the truth of their secret nuclear experiments before the world community and halt such dangerous development of nuclear weapons.
