Tradition of Guarding Leader at Cost of Life Carried forward in Korea

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- September 22 is the 55th death anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk, a paragon of those who defended the leader at the cost of their lives. She dedicated her whole life to supporting the ideas of President Kim Il Sung and guarding him at the risk of her life.
The great tradition of defending the leader with lives established by her has been carried forward generation after generation as a precious heritage of the Korean revolution.
With a firm belief that only by the leader, can the dignity of the nation be heightened and the bright future be guaranteed, the soldier-constructors of the Anbyon Youth Power Station, people of Jagang Province and constructors of the Youth Hero Motorway displayed to the full the revolutionary soldier spirit and Kanggye spirit with which they unconditionally implemented the order given by leader Kim Jong Il in the worst conditions.
There are many heroes who sacrificed themselves in guarding the leader.
Among them are Kil Yong Jo who died a heroic death in the sky to defend the leader, 17 hero- servicemen who dedicated their lives to saving trees bearing slogans at a revolutionary site in raging flames, and Yang Chun Il and Han Yong Hak who kept the portraits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in safety while drifting in the sea for several months.
The song "We Will Defend the Headquarters of Revolution with Our Lives" which the Korean people like to sing reflects their will to carry forward the tradition of guarding the leader with their lives and remain true to the Songun-based revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il.
