Pyongyang Broadcasting Service claimed on Aug. 18 that "anticipation prevails in South Korea with a rumor being widely spread these days that our Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il will soon unite the two Koreas and march into Seoul, just as in 1945 when all people in Seoul looked forward to Commander Kim Il Sung marching into Seoul." |
International Issues
Pyongyang Broadcasting Service claimed on Aug 10 that "the U.S. is making a fuss propagandizing that it will reduce U.S. forces stationed in South Korea by one third as a part of its strategy to relocate the U.S. forces around the world. However, the alleged arms reduction is actually a war plan in disguise in alignment with its strategy for a preemptive strike against the DPRK." |

The Central Broadcasting Station criticized the U.S. on Aug. 11, saying, "The U.S. is fanatically clinging to its egregious Missile Defense System in order to seize world hegemony by planning to put a Missile Defense System in place by the end of this year under the pretext of developing a countermeasure to long-range ballistic missiles." (Aug. 9, Pyongyang Broadcasting Service) |
Inter-Korean Issues
The Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland denounced Seoul, saying, "Recently, the South Korean military authorities have been planning to erect a war memorial at Wolmi island in Incheon in a bid to praise the Incheon Landing Operation the U.S imperialist force launched during the Korean War. This will absolutely trigger confrontation, and constitute yet another crime in betrayal of the nation." (Aug. 9, Pyongyang Broadcasting Service) |
|
Pyongyang Broadcasting Service criticized Seoul on Aug. 14, saying, "Going against national aspirations to designate the year 2005 the first year of the unification era, war mongers in South Korea, including Capital Garrison Command, are escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula by launching various military exercises, such as tank mobility exercises, daily." |
