In its July 30 editorial titled "Women, Be Genuine Revolutionists who Succeed to Great Songun Achievements," Rodong Sinmun stressed, "It is women's role to give birth to many children and raise them to be the future leaders of the DPRK based on the Songun spirit. Therefore, all women should make efforts to instill their children with the spirit from a very young age so they can put the Party, the Leader and the people first in their lives, with everlasting allegiance." International Issues
The KPA Panmunjeom Mission sent a letter to the U.S. Secretary General, emphatically saying, "The current massive arms buildup of the U.S. prompts the KPA to judge that the U.S.' preparations for a preemptive strike on the DPRK has reached its peak. In such circumstances, therefore, we will not sit on our hands until the U.S. launches a strike against us, for a preemptive strike is not an option for the U.S. alone." The Pyongyang Broadcasting Service criticized Tokyo on July 29, saying, "With the decision by Japan's Maritime Security Administration on July 25 to newly establish a Security Department under the Maritime Security Division for the collection of information, Japan is set to reinforce its military intervention at sea under the pretext of anti-terrorism." |
Inter-Korean Issues
The Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland denounced Seoul regarding the North Korean defectors' entry into South Korea: "The South Korean authorities plan and implement a systematic abduction of North Koreans by compelling a massive number of North Koreans to defect to South Korea. This is nothing but a terrorist act in broad daylight." (July 29, Pyongyang Broadcasting Service) |

The National Reunification Institute issued a white paper titled "Dissecting the U.S.' deceptive move toward arms reduction": "The North and the South, as well as all overseas compatriots, should raise awareness of the U.S.' deceptive move toward arms reduction and join in the struggle to put an end to the U.S.' forcible occupation of the Korean peninsula."
