International Issues
Rodong Sinmun vehemently criticized the U.S. in its editorial titled "Outrageous claim by the Kingpin of Human Trafficking" for the "Report on Human Trafficking" recently published by the U.S., which lists the DPRK as a major human trafficking country and states that the DPRK does not abide by even the lowest standards for combating human trafficking. The editorial insisted that the accusation was entirely unfounded and that it is the U.S. that is the kingpin of human trafficking. |

The Central Broadcasting Station insisted on July 2, "the U.S. imperialist is engaged in a malicious propaganda against the DPRK by spreading a rumor on the existence of the alleged Uranium Enrichment Program in the DPRK, which is totally ungrounded. In so doing, the U.S. aims to justify their attempt to launch an aggression war on the DPRK." |
Inter-Korean Issues
The Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland slandered Seoul, saying, "South Korea's yielding to the U.S. and dispatching of troops to Iraq is an unpardonable act that betrays the nation. By taking side with the U.S.' unilateral war of aggression on Iraq at the expense of its own people's lives and safety, Seoul will bring about such consequences as war on the Korean peninsula." Pyongyang Broadcasting Station criticized on June 30 that "in the new era ushered in by the June 15 Joint Declaration, although the activities of those working for unification and democratization of the nation such as Hancheongryun (the Korean Federation of University Student Councils) should be actively promoted and encouraged, the South Korean judicial authorities prosecute unification activists, including members of Hancheongryun, on the grounds of breaching the so-called National Security Law that has made so many democratic activists and patriots shed their blood." |
