Favorably Developing DPRK-Russia Friendship

Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- An article of Rodong Sinmun Monday observes the 4th anniversary of the DPRK-Russia Joint Declaration (July, 2000).
The article says that the adoption of the declaration marked an important event as it laid a solid foundation to develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Russia in all fields, recalling the fact that the bilateral relations have steadily developed at a new stage over the last four years.
It goes on:
The validity of the DPRK-Russia friendship is more strikingly proved as the days go by through brisk multi-channel visits, contacts and exchange between high-level delegations of the two countries including the recent Russian foreign minister's visit to the DPRK.
The Korean people appreciate the positive efforts made by the Russian people to achieve social stability and national unity and protect the security and interests of the country under the leadership of President V. V. Putin.
It is the invariable stand of the Korean people to boost the traditional DPRK-Russia friendship as required by the new century. Stronger DPRK-Russia friendship is in line with the desire and interests of the two peoples and beneficial for the formation of a new just global structure, world peace and security and the development of the international relations.
The Korean people will as ever make positive efforts to boost the friendly and cooperative relations in the idea of the declaration.
