10th Reunion of Separated Families and Relatives Starts

    Mt. Kumgang resort, July 12 (KCNA) -- The 10th reunion of separated families and relatives started at Mt. Kumgang resort. Those from the north had a group reunion with their families and relatives from the south on Sunday under an agreement between the Red Cross organizations of the north and the south.
    As the reunion began, they hugged each other, overcome with joy.
    Separated families and relatives from the north side told their kin from the south side about the blessed, happy life they and their families have led under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea.
    The southerners were deeply moved to hear the stories told earnestly by Im Kwon Sun, a resident in Sinchon County, who had the honor of welcoming President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il to her work site, An Nam Ryong, a resident in Haeju, who is leading a worthwhile life as DPRK hero and winner of the National Reunification Prize, Prof. and Dr. Kim Tong Sin, teacher at Kim Chaek University of Technology and winner of Kim Il Sung Prize, and Prof. and Dr. Ri Sun Dok, researcher at the Grand People's Study House, who are so happy that the hopes and talents of themselves and their families are in full bloom under the deep care of the DPRK.
    The separated families and relatives from the north and the south evinced their will to put an end to the tragedy of national division at the earliest through national cooperation and devotedly work for the patriotic cause for the unity of Koreans and the reunification of the country.
    Those from the north side had family reunions with their kin from the south on Monday.
    Meanwhile, the Red Cross of south Korea hosted a reception for the separated families and relatives from the north and the south.
