- CONGRESS/NORTH KOREA VOA 15 Jul 2004 -- A top U.S. official says there has been some progress, but no breakthroughs, in multilateral talks with North Korea. Assistant Secretary of State James Kelly testified (Thursday) before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
- FM Spokesman on DPRK's Stand on Nuclear Freeze and Way of Verification KCNA 15 Jul 2004 -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA Wednesday as regards the misinformation floated by some members of the international community about the objects to be frozen and the way of verification after the DPRK elaborated on the proposal on "reward for freeze" at the third round of the six-party talks: As already reported, all participants in the six-party talks except the U.S. expressed positive understanding and sympathy with the flexible proposal the DPRK made as the first-phase measure for a package solution based on simultaneous actions at the talks.
- Kim Il Chol Meets Director of CPLA General Logistics Department KCNA 15 Jul 2004 -- Vice-Marshal Kim Il Chol, member of the National Defence Commission and minister of the People's Armed Forces of the DPRK, on a visit to the People's Republic of China met and had a friendly talk with Colonel General Liao Xilong, Director of the General Logistics Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, on July 13.
- Wu Bangguo Meets DPRK Military Delegation KCNA 15 Jul 2004 -- Wu Bangguo, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Tuesday met and had a friendly talk with the DPRK military delegation led by Vice-Marshal Kim Il Chol, member of the DPRK National Defence Commission and minister of the People's Armed Forces, at the Great Hall of the People.
