Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Company

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK

Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected a company of KPA Unit 833. The company standing guard over a remote post is one of the model companies widely known for its entertainment activities and management.
He acquainted himself with the company's performance of duty before looking round the compound of the barracks and its surroundings kept as neat and clean as a park.
Noting that the KPA servicepersons consider a tree and a blade of grass as part of their lives and devote themselves to the patriotic work to turn the country into a land of bliss for the people, he said that this is the KPA's manifestation of its noble patriotism.
Then he took warm care of the service and living of the servicepersons of the company, walking round an education room, a bedroom, a mess, a washroom, daily provision stores, an outdoor resting place, a barn, a vegetable field and other places of the company.
He was pleased to learn that the company has built well the inside and outside of its barracks like a rest house and is managing its economic life in a peculiar and tenacious manner.
Noting that the officers and men of the company including non-commissioned officer in extra-service Kim Kyong Ho have splendidly built the company through a dynamic drive to spruce up their post with warm love for the country, he highly praised their feats and underlined the need to follow the example of the company.
Saying at every unit of the KPA he visits he can find its management at the best level, he added that such proud success is a shining fruition of the idea, morality, culture and traits of its servicepersons.
He met and had a warm conversation with the commanding officers of the company, asking them about their native places and ages and inquiring after their parents' health.
He spared time to see a dynamic and optimistic art performance given by servicepersons of the company to show their noble spiritual world. He was greatly satisfied to see their revolutionary and militant way of life.
He gave the servicepersons a pair of binoculars and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photo session with them.
