Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected KPA Unit 4302.
He was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Kim Yong Chun, member of the NDC of the DPRK and chief of the KPA General Staff, KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong and Ri Yong Chol, member of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and first vice department director of its Central Committee.
He was greeted on the spot by commanding officers of the unit.
After acquainting himself with the unit's performance of duty, he looked round the room devoted to its history, guided by its commander.
The unit achieved signal successes in various battles during the last Fatherland Liberation War and produced many recipients of state orders including 24 heroes of the republic in this course.
He highly praised the heroic exploits performed by them to be recorded in the history of the great war, noting that the colors of the unit shining with victory and glory are closely associated with the noble soul of the revolutionary martyrs who dedicated their youth and lives to the Party, the leader, the country and the people.
He watched a training of servicepersons of the unit.
He advanced important tasks which would serve as guidelines in further increasing the combat capability of the unit, great satisfied to see all officers and men of the unit trained as a-match-for-hundred fighters capable of successfully undertaking any combat duty under any circumstances.
He took deep care of their service and living, going round a servicepersons' hall, a military lecture room, an education room, a bedroom, a mess hall, a washroom, a daily provision store, an outdoor resting place and other places.
He noted with high appreciation that the unit has built excellent entertainment and logistic facilities by thoroughly applying the way the anti-Japanese guerrilla army did in managing the unit and its commanding officers and their families, in particular, are
looking after the living of its soldiers with paternal love.
Watching the trees that have grown tall in the compound of the barracks along with the growth of the unit, he highly appreciated the patriotic devotion displayed by its servicepersons in creating the thick verdure.
He spared time to see an art performance given by servicepersons of a company of the unit.
He had a photo session with servicepersons of the unit.
