  • NOKOR/NUCLEAR VOA 22 May 2004 -- A U-N envoy to North Korea says the country's officials have told him they intend to continue developing nuclear weapons programs. The prime minister of Japan says North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-Il, took a somewhat more conciliatory stance in talks they had.
  • JAPAN/NOKOR VOA 22 May 2004 -- Five family members of Japanese abducted by North Korea during the Cold War are on their way to be reunited with their parents in Japan. They boarded a Japanese government plane Saturday evening in Pyonygang, following a 90-minute summit between Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il.
  • Japanese Prime Minister Arrives KCNA 22 May 2004 -- Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi arrived here Saturday on a visit to the DPRK to implement the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration and restore the relations of confidence between the two countries.
