Message of Sympathy to Kim Jong Il from Syrian President

Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, received a message of sympathy from Syrian President Bashar Al Assad Saturday.
The Syrian president in the message says he heard with deep sorrow the news that dozens of friendly Korean people were killed and tens of others wounded in a railway accident in the DPRK.
He, in the name of the Syrian Arab people and in his own name, extended sincerest condolences to Kim Jong Il and the victims to the accident and wished the wounded an early recovery, the message noted.
