6th Kimilsungia Festival Closes

    Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- The 6th Kimilsungia Festival which was opened on April 13 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun was closed. The ten day-long festival drew 60 units including the ministries, national institutions, armed forces organs and various provinces, many individual workers, servicepersons and students.
    At least 30 diplomatic missions including Indonesia and missions of international organizations here, over 20 friendship and solidarity organizations, Koreans in China and other overseas compatriots contributed flowers representing the sun to the festival.
    Congratulatory messages came to the festival from political and social figures of different countries.
    It was visited by at least 650,000 servicepersons, working people, school youth and children, overseas Koreans staying in the socialist homeland and foreigners.
    A closing ceremony was held on April 22.
    Present were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Thae Bok and other senior officials of the Party and the state and officials concerned.
    Staff members of the Indonesian embassy here were also present there.
    The results of the festival were announced by its jury and diplomas and medals were awarded to the successful entrants.
    Kang Nung Su, chairman of the Korean Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, made a closing address.
