Kim Jong Il Watches Training of KPA Unit 324

Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, watched the training of KPA Unit 324.
He, conducted by the commander of the unit, went round the training apparatuses and facilities of the unit. He dropped in at a military lecture room and saw a tactical training of its commanding officers.
He noted with great satisfaction that the commanding officers of the unit have been trained as competent commanding officers equipped with a high level of operational command capacity to successfully carry out the WPK's Juche-oriented military strategy through strenuous and effective training.
He mounted an observation post and watched the training of soldiers.
After watching the training of the brave soldiers firmly equipped with the WPK's Juche-oriented combat methods, he highly praised them for their successful training, greatly pleased to see all the soldiers fully prepared themselves politically and ideologically and in military technique to promptly beat back any enemy invasion and firmly defend the socialist homeland.
He learned about the living of the soldiers, going round an education room, a bedroom, a mess hall, a washroom, an outdoor resting place and other places. He stressed the need to take deep care of the living of soldiers so that they might not feel any slightest inconvenience in their living.
After seeing the soldiers' pleasant amusement game during break, he praised all of them for leading a revolutionary and militant life full of optimism and conviction of the future.
He gave the servicepersons of the unit a pair of binoculars, a machine gun and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photo session with them.
The next leg of his inspection was a company of KPA Unit 297.
After watching the soldiers of the company in firepower training, he met with soldiers. He took deep care of their service and living, giving a warm pep talk to them.
He gave the company a pair of binoculars, a machine gun and an automatic rifle as gifts and posed for a photograph with its servicepersons.
He was accompanied by Ri Yong Chol, member of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and first vice department director of its Central Committee.
