Sixth Kimilsungia Festival Opens

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- The Sixth Kimilsungia Festival was opened with a grand ceremony here today on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
Put on the exhibition halls are at least 7,000 potted Kimilsungias presented by commissions and ministries of the Cabinet, national institutions, armed forces organs, people's security institutions, numerous organisations in different provinces, working people, diplomatic missions of various countries and international organizations here and members of the Pyongyang Mission of the National Democratic Front of South Korea.
The ceremony was attended by Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Pak Pong Ju, premier of the Cabinet, and others.
Present on invitation were members of delegations of different countries and foreign guests participating in the festival and overseas Koreans staying in the socialist homeland.
Kang Nung Su, chairman of the DPRK Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, in his address said that the festival of praising the great man along with the flower of the sun has been traditionalized every year as more grand and significant one amidst growing expectation and interest of humankind.
According to him, the Czechoslovak Communist Party, the Party for Unity and Progress of Guinea, the Central Committee of the All India Forward Bloc and other political parties and public organizations of different countries sent messages congratulating the on-going festival.
