    Pyongyang April 8 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is now in a festive atmosphere, ready to welcome art and acrobatic troupes coming from 40-odd countries to participate in the 22nd April Spring Friendship Art Festival to be held from April 10 to 18. Flags of the DPRK, festival flags and red banners are fluttering on the flag poles in the plazas of the April 25 House of Culture, the venue of the opening ceremony, the Mansudae Art Theatre, the Ponghwa Art Theatre, the Pyongyang Grand Theatre and other theatres where performances will be given and on the flag poles in streets. And streamers and large picture boards welcoming those from other countries, colorful decorations and decorative electric illumination are seen here and there in the city.
    Festival posters are attached to public buildings, public service establishments and buses.
    Service networks including Pyongyang Koryo Hotel and Yanggakdo International Hotel have finished preparations to offer all convenience to the participants.
    The theatres have been well furnished with sound and lighting equipment for the successful festival.
    Song Sok Hwan, vice-chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Festival, told KCNA: The April Spring Friendship Art Festival is international one organized in appreciation of the immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in accomplishing the human cause of independence. The forthcoming festival will be helpful towards strengthening and developing friendship, unity, cultural exchange and cooperation among peoples and artistes of different countries in line with the idea of independence, peace and friendship. We will do our best for the successful festival.
