30th Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Marked

Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held at the Grand People's Study House on April 7 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "On Further Developing Public Health".
Kim Su Hak, minister of Public Health, in his report referred to great achievements in public health in 30 years after the publication of the work.
Public health workers have consistently maintained the line of preventive medicine of the Workers' Party of Korea to prevent epidemic diseases from coming from abroad and activated medical services even in the period of the "Arduous March" and the forced march to defend the most advantageous free medical care system and display the might of the section doctor system, the reporter said, and went on:
The material and technical foundations of public health have been further consolidated and latest scientific and technical achievements introduced into medical practices.
Public health workers should follow Kim Jong Il's noble human love and devote their all to promoting the health of people so as to become servants of the people called engineers of human life and "our doctor".
They should further develop medical science and information to meet the requirements of the IT age and bring the medical science and technology of the country onto the world level in a short period by carrying on audacious and bold researches for hewing out ultra modern science and technology.
Present at the meeting were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and public health workers in the city.
