Recruits Congratulated by Schoolchildren in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- A meeting of schoolchildren in Pyongyang was held at the Open-Air Theatre of the Youth Park to congratulate recruits of the Korean People's Army leaving for their posts for the defence of the country, firmly determined to foil the U.S. imperialists' moves to provoke a new war and honorably safeguard the sovereignty of their motherland as the young vanguard in the era of Songun.
Present at the meeting were Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, and other officials concerned.
Kim Song Chol, first secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a speech to be followed by congratulatory speeches.
After warmly congratulating the recruits, the speakers said that the motherland would remain invulnerable and prosperous thanks to the dependable young vanguard who are ready to bring their ideal and hope into bloom in the way of remaining true to the Party's Songun leadership.
They asked the recruits to show their loyalty every moment of their military service with the same spirit of defending the leader and the motherland at the cost of lives as displayed by the first and second generations of the revolution.
Recruits in their speeches evincing their resolutions said it was sacred duty and due obligation for the young people to defend the benevolent socialist motherland with arms.
They firmly resolved to take the lead in upholding the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il with arms, decisively smash the vicious moves of the U.S. imperialists, the enemy, for a nuclear war and defend the socialist country as firm as an iron wall, cherishing the Party's trust and expectation at all times.
