Large-Scale U.S.-South Korea Landing Exercise in S. Korea
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK
Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The U.S. troops and the south Korean army staged a large-scale joint landing exercise in the area of Toksong-ri, Phohang City, North Kyongsang Province, on March 26, according to the south Korean KBS.
Involved in the maneuver were at least 3,000 troops including the South Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Air Force and the marine landing group of the south Korean army and war equipment.
The exercise was staged under the simulated conditions of a surprise landing in the rear of the "enemy" with the naval and air support in the event of "contingency". It is reportedly aimed to strengthen the system of operational cooperation between the U.S. and south Korea.
This landing exercise is a drill for a war of aggression against the DPRK as it is part of the provocative large-scale joint military exercises now under way across south Korea.
