DPRK's Self-Defensive Deterrent Force Enough to Counter Any U.S. Preemptive N- Attack

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK

Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued a statement Friday denouncing the "reception, staging, onward movement and integration" (RSOI) and Foal Eagle joint military exercises the U.S. and the south Korean war hawks are going to stage from March 22.
    It says:
The DPRK has a self-defensive deterrent force powerful enough to cope with any U.S. preemptive nuclear attack and wipe out aggressors to the last man.
The U.S. "policy of strength" is sure to prove ineffective in face of the great Songun politics and the deterrent force based on it and the provocateurs are bound to meet the fate of forlorn wandering spirit.
The committee vehemently denounces the projected joint military exercises of the U.S. and its followers as an intolerable military provocation against the DPRK and an outright challenge to the desire and wish of all the Koreans and world peace-loving people for detente and peace on the Korean peninsula.
No sooner had the second round of the six-way talks on the nuclear issue come to an end than the U.S. declared its plan to stage large-scale war maneuvers against its dialogue partner. This clearly shows that it seeks to invade the DPRK by force, while paying lip-service to "dialogue" and "peace."
It is nobody's secret that the U.S. has massively shipped into south Korea ultra-modern military hardware tested in the Afghan and Iraqi wars, after rounding off "new operation plan 5026" for the invasion of the DPRK, and recently conducted even an exercise of evacuating families of U.S. servicemen in south Korea.
The U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces are bringing the dark clouds of a nuclear war to hang over the Korean peninsula. This compels the army and the people of the DPRK to keep a high degree of vigilance against these moves. They are firmly determined to mete out a merciless punishment to the aggressors.
The U.S. should immediately halt its reckless moves to provoke a war against the DPRK, clearly understanding that strength is not all-cure and the Korean peninsula is neither Iraq nor Afghanistan.
