Rodong Sinmun Observes Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work

    Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- Today is the 40th anniversary of the publication of leader Kim Jong Il's work "Position and Role of County in Socialist Construction" (March 18, 1964). Rodong Sinmun today says in a signed article devoted to this day:
    Kim Jong Il with his rock-firm faith in the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung has devoted all his thought and practices to what the President wanted and concerned. This is the foundation of traits of Kim Jong Il as a thinker and theoretician who settled the unknown scientific and theoretical problems with his perfect logic.
    The idea set forth by him in the work is a perfect idea and theory surpassing all the preceding theses in theoretical depth and practical significance.
    The far-sighted theoretical activity clarifying the future of the revolution and construction with firm vitality not only at the present times but also in the future is one of the important index which define the greatness of traits of a thinker and theoretician.
    Every county in the DPRK has played a great role as a center to link city with countryside in political, economic, cultural and other fields and develop the local economy in a comprehensive way.
    The idea and theory of the work pave the way for continuously improving and strengthening the guidance and management of the rural economy in conformity with the requirements of the reality.
    In fact, Kim Jong Il's idea and theory on the position and role of county in socialist construction conform not only with the period of comprehensive socialist construction but with the present times in which the building of a great prosperous powerful nation has entered a new higher stage.
