Seminar on Juche-Oriented Idea of Literature and Art Held

Pyongyang, March 17 (KCNA) -- A seminar on the Juche-oriented idea of literature and art was held in Pyongyang on Mache 16 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's guidance to the creation of the revolutionary drama "Blood at an International Conference".
Guiding the creation of the drama on March 12, Juche 73 (1984), Kim Jong Il lucidly taught the germ of idea of the work that the international conference for peace, too, did not present independence to Korea and the thematic idea that dependence on foreign forces leads to a national ruin and it is a true way of winning back the sovereignty of the state to achieve independence through struggle with consciousness of national independence.
At the meeting speakers said that Kim Jong Il through his tireless guidance made sure that this famous drama was created as a model of revolutionary dramas based on history, thus performing immortal exploits in successfully carrying forward and developing the tradition of the anti-Japanese revolutionary literature and art and effecting a radical turn in all fields of literature and art.
They stressed that the idea and theory set out by Kim Jong Il in guiding the revolutionary drama serve as guidelines to be held fast to in creating revolutionary literature and art, works based on history in particular, and a banner encouraging the creators and artistes in their fresh creative activities.
They called for upholding the Juche-based theory of drama set out by him and thoroughly implementing it in practice to create more dramas required by the Songun era.
Present there were Kim Jong Ho, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Literature and Arts of Korea, and other officials concerned.
