N Korea denies attempts to get Pakistani uranium technologies
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Beijing, Feb 28, Itar-Tass/ACSNA/IRNA -- North Korea`s official representative at the six-partite talks on the Korean nuclear problem, Kim Kye Gwan, has denied the allegations that his country obtained access to Pakistani technologies of uranium enrichment. There is no cooperation between the Democratic People`s Republic of Korea and Pakistan in that area, he said. Kim Kye Gwan admitted, however, that the sales of North Korean missiles to Pakistan had indeed taken place -- to earn hard currency, he said. He indicated that North Korea could not afford giving up a program of the peaceful use of atomic energy, and blamed the US with unwillingness to solve the issue through dialogue. Kim Kye Gwan warned the US that one should hardly count on a success of the next round of the six-partite talks, due in the middle of the year in Beijing, if the US Administration abides by the same tactics. /AH/210 End
