Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

Pyongyang February 10 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected KPA Unit 1128 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment.
He went round a power station built by the unit and then went to a firing position to acquaint himself in detail with the unit's performance of duty and combat preparations of its soldiers.
He advanced highly important tasks which would serve as guidelines in increasing the combat power of the unit, greatly satisfied to learn that all the officers and men of the unit are performing their guard duties in a responsible manner with high vigilance in view of the imperialists' moves for aggression and fully prepared themselves as one-match-for-a-hundred combatants equipped with high military technology and combat capability by thoroughly implementing the WPK's policy of training.
He was briefed on the history of the unit, seeing the glorious records showing the proud path covered by it.
He highly praised the unit for its heroic feats, saying that it has done a lot of work in the past, taking the road of loyalty following the WPK single-heartedly.
Going round a servicemen's hall, a mess and other places, he learned in detail about the political and ideological work conducted among the soldiers and the management of the unit.
He had a photo session with the officers and men of the unit, expressing expectation and conviction that they would firmly safeguard the defence line of the country.
Then, he inspected a company under the unit.
He paid deep attention to the service and living of the soldiers while going round an education room, a lecture room, a bedroom, a washroom, an outdoor resting place and other entertainment and logistic facilities.
All the companies of the KPA are managed well, he said. T
his fully shows what a high level the ideological and mental readiness and combat power of the KPA, heir to the glorious traditions of the anti-Japanese struggle, have reached.
He gave the soldiers of the company a pair of binoculars and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a picture taken with them.
He was accompanied by Ri Yong Chol, member of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and first vice department director of its Central Committee.
